Christeen Urquhart

Parent & Child Facilitator

Christeen was born at North York Hospital in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in Trenton Ontario.  As a child she did spend 4 years in England and has fond memories of visiting several western European countries, exploring castles throughout the British Isles, and climbing trees and picking strawberries right in her own English back garden.

Completing her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies and Sociology from McMaster University, she went on to open her own environmental hemp store, establishing deep roots in the Hamilton community.  This included Westdale Children School, attending the Mayfair and Merryberry Markets where strong ties were made with many of the school's families.

Following a long career in retail, Christeen returned to working with families in a childcare/respite capacity and at a meeting scheduled to discuss the new administrator role at Westdale, the position was offered to Christeen and she accepted it gladly.

Christeen continues to grow with the school as facilitator of the Parent & Child program, working towards her Early Childhood Educator Diploma at Mohawk College and deepening her professional studies in the New Adult Learning Movement program.
